Note this is not a FOSSA event, it is kindly being run by a school parent.

Join parents from across our area this Thursday for the screening of a live talk regarding the effects of smartphones on children. The event is free to attend and open to all!

When: 21st March 8:30 – 9:30pm

Where: Shoscombe Village Hall, BA2 8LX

The event will feature a screening of Jonathan Haidt – widely considered to be the leading global voice on the changing nature of childhood due to smartphones and social media. A renowned social psychologist and author, he’s currently the Professor of Ethical Leadership at NYU.

His Smartphones vs Smart Kids talk on Youtube is a must watch, and his forthcoming book The Anxious Generation is set to be the seminal text on the subject. He is running an exclusive live talk and Q&A which will be screened for all to see.

There will be no pressure to join the smartphone free movement, this is just an opportunity to learn more about the role of smartphones in ours and our childrens’ lives and to consider how we want to go into the teenage years.

With thanks to the Shoscombe Village Hall committee for supporting this event.
