One of the FOSSA team has taken on a wet and cold challenge this summer to help us raise funds.
FOSSA secretary and school parent, Katrina Kelly, is taking on an Aquathlon on 16th August – a 750m swim followed by a 5k soggy run, as part of an organised event at Vobster Quay.
Katrina said: “I have decided (possibly against my better judgement) to celebrate my 40th year by undertaking some new experiences – one is to do my first Aquathlon. While I’ve run 5ks before, I’ve never taken part in a swimming race and am slightly concerned that I’ll struggle to keep up with the pack – I need to do a lot of training over the next five weeks!”
FOSSA has already committed to covering 50% of the cost of school trips for 2024/25, as well as specialist art and drama lessons for each year group. Fundraising events like this go towards making these commitments possible.
If you would like to support Katrina you can do so through her Just Giving page.
