Introducing Your School PTA
Hello and welcome! FOSSA is the Friends of Shoscombe School Association – our school’s PTA. We warmly welcome everyone with an interest in the school to get involved. That includes parents, carers, grandparents, teaching and pastoral staff and village residents.
FOSSA is at the heart of our school community. Our main role is to support the school through fundraising and events – something that’s becoming ever more important as costs rise and budgets tighten. Along the way, we aim to create fun, inclusive activities for the whole community to enjoy, while raising vital funds that directly benefit the children.
What We Do…
In recent years, FOSSA has:
- Raised £6,000 for new library books and guided reading sets
- Donated £1,000 towards maths resources and equipment
- Funded Reception book bags, Arts Week, and the Matilda production
- Helped subsidise school trips so every child can take part
We’ve also run hugely popular events including quiz nights, ceilidhs, wreath-making workshops, and the school fete.
And of course, FOSSA loves to treat the children with special activities such as:
- Movie nights
- Themed discos
- Sponsored events and ice cream van visits!

We’re always looking for new volunteers – whether it’s serving teas, running a stall, or helping plan an event. Come along to a meeting to share your ideas or simply see what it’s all about!

How You Can Help
There are lots of ways to get involved – big or small, it all makes a difference:
- Easy Fundraising: Shop online via https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/support-a-good-cause/ and choose Shoscombe CEVA Primary School
- One-off donations: Support through our website or by donating items (from a crate of beer for the fete to the cost of a bouncy castle!)

- Raffle prizes: Donate directly or through a workplace scheme
- Skills & talents: Good at carpentry, music, or BBQs? We’d love your help at events
- Volunteer your time: Even 30 minutes on a stall makes a huge difference – and it’s fun!
- Donate clothing: Use the clothes donation bank at the staff car park, or give good-quality second-hand uniform for our ECO shop
- Shop in the ECO Shop: Preloved uniform – grab a bargain while supporting FOSSA
